We are a full service sewing workshop based in Cave Creek, Arizona. All under one roof, we design, dye, sew and fulfill orders. We use the latest equipment and technology to rival and beat higher priced brands on craftsmanship, design and fit. By focusing on direct to the consumer we aim to make ethically made yoga wear accessible to the average customer not just the luxury customer.
Our eco-friendly fabrics cost 2-3 times the price of standard polyester and nylon and we pay living wages to our sewing staff. Despite this we are typically 20-25% less expensive than comparable brands such as Lululemon and Sweaty Betty. We have also committed to giving back 10% of our profits to the community.
The YD Fit
Both our recycled polyester and our recycled nylon are compression fabrics. We think we run true to size. A well fitted pair of YD leggings should fit snugly without much movement to facilitate your movement in practice. It is very common for people to wonder if they should have sized up when they first receive our product. The best YD fit is one where your leggings fit very snug at first wear. Our fabric has good shape retention and will shape to you quite quickly. We always recommend to our customers to try on their leggings one final time before making a decision on whether to move to a larger size. We heat treat our printed leggings to bake in our artwork which creates a temporary shrinkage effect that quickly diminishes at first wear. Our size chart is quite honest and errs in fact on the side of caution. You will not be undersized if you follow our size chart though if you prefer a more casual fit and are in between sizes you may wish to move to the higher size to suit your personal preference. You can view our size chart here (opens in a new window) Most of our customers like our compressive fit as they feel it smooths out their "lumps and bumps".
By not using elastic around the top of our waist we have eliminated the potential for any muffin top effect, no matter your body shape or size. Based on customer feedback, our waistband ranks significantly higher than most other brands in similar price points for comfort. We also receive excellent feedback for our waistband not moving during practice.
If you find that your waistband occasionally rolls forward at the top front part of your waist in some deep forward bend postures, you may wish to consider sizing up.
Latest Generation Fabrics
We use luxury eco-friendly fabrics without the luxury price tags. Our recycled polyester has a high percentage of Lycra® Xtra Life™ for shape retention and stretch. It is chlorine, oil and suncream resistant and rated Excellent for UBF protection. UBF is the classification system for measuring UV protection for fabric. Excellent is the highest rating available and is equivalent to a minimum of 40+ UVA, UVB protection. Both of our recycled nylon fabrics are likewise rated Excellent for UBF protection and are also chlorine, suncream and oil resistant. All of our fabrics are non-pilling and deliver muscle control to enhance performance.
We began by producing leggings for the hot yoga community and as such all our products are incredibly well suited to the hot room and warm summer temperatures. Our leggings deliver a cooling effect by wicking sweat and drying quickly.

Both our recycled polyester and our recycled nylon dry very quickly without need for a dryer. We recommend air drying. Neither nylon nor Lycra are suited for drying at high temperatures. Depending on humidity levels, our leggings will air dry in about 10-12 minutes. Air drying also helps your wallet and the planet so there’s that too.
Fabric Impact Assessment
We use primarily two types of fabric in our products, both of which we source from Italy. For our printed pieces we use polyester containing 78% recycled polyester made from r–Starlight® yarn which is certified to be spun from 100% post-consumer content and 22% Lycra® Xtra Life™ You can download more about r–Starlight® here (click to start download).
The yarn used to produce our recycled polyester is BPA free. As the yarn used to produce our fabric is milled from 100% post-consumer content, specifically PET or PETE bottles (e.g. soda bottles, water bottles) BPA is not present in the source material. BPA is more commonly found in HDPE plastic, the more rigid and opaque plastic used in such products as laundry detergent containers, milk jugs, etc.
Our solid color pieces are made from one of two types of recycled nylon. The first contains 65% recycled polyamide and 35% elastane. The second contains 78% recycled polyamide, 22% Lycra® Xtra Life™ The recycled content in both fabrics is made from Econyl® yarn from 100% recycled material. The source material used to produce Econyl® includes fishing nets and carpet fluff. You can find out more about Econyl® here (opens in a new window)
Our recycled polyester requires half the energy to produce versus standard polyester. It also requires six times less water in spinning and dyeing versus standard polyester. Our transfer process means we don't add to the water cost of our fabric. Our transfer process is 100% water free.
Econyl requires less than half the energy to produce versus standard nylon and has roughly half the Greenhouse Warming Potential (GWP) of standard nylon.
